To Stephon Lawrence. It is not the Reformed view that forbids homosexuality, it is the BIBLE! Only obedience to Christ and His Gospel will save you from hell. That implies faith and repentance from all known sin, including a "gay-lifestyle".

Just surfed in and I don't agree with your Reformed view of the gay lifestyle as sin. Gay people who love their partner in a deep, meaningful and loving relationship makes the gay lifestyle acceptable. Paul repeatedly tell us that we are no longer under the law? I believe he said that the old Law was crucified and called it an old schoolmaster. (Gal 3:23-25, Rom 6:14-15, Rom 7:6). Paul seems to repeatedly say that there is no salvation under the law, an argument he continually had with his Jewish brothers. So just think on these things.

Not happy with your no sex before marriage policy. You don't really expect anyone to actually refrain from sex do you? Wouldn't it be more Christian to preach that teens practice safe sex, and only with someone they love? It's unrealistic and legalistic to think teens will refrain from sex. Better to preach moderation than to preach in vain.

Reply:
Actually, it's not my "no sex before marriage policy," it's what's written in God's law. And you're certainly not alone in your displeasure with it. Nor in your belief that premarital sex is an unconquerable urge that should be managed rather than witnessed against. It has always been the nature of man (Proverbs 12:15) to justify whatever "seems" right in his own eyes, rather than follow the counsel of God.

To specifically answer your question, NO, it most certainly would not be "more Christian" to preach that teens should practice safe sex, but it would be "more Palatable" to those who prefer to compromise and concede rather than fight the good fight that Christians are called upon to fight. And to imply that it is impractical for people to abstain from sex before marriage is post-modern humanistic propaganda, which not only invalidates God's law, but general morality and history as well. Which I'll grant, most people are perfectly willing to do to ease their conscience. But there is the faith of the saints in the testimony of Christ.

You say "Better to preach moderation than to preach in vain," but for the record, no preaching in truth, is preaching in vain.

Thank God for His faithfulness in keeping His word, servants and truth. I hold to the Reformed faith and the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith in the town of Grenada, Ms. I pray that more people will learn more about biblical theology and eschatology through your site. I am persuaded that God's truth will triumph gloriously in faithful servants proclaiming the truth, regardless of popularity, tradition or modern social pressures. Keep up the old works.

I was directed to your website by a Presbyterian brother in Northern Ireland. I would like to register to say thank you for these resources. Yours should be the standard of faithfulness by which other sites should be judged. We are greatly blessed by the great authors and information amassed here.

Dear Brothers and sisters in the lord. I read your site almost every morning and am greatly gratified by what I read. I found the Gospel message taught here is pure and not intermingled with the many teachings of tradition that I have been deceived about in the past. I praise God for people like you who stand by the Truth.
