Reformed theology is a dying doctrine from an out-of-touch church. May I suggest more liberal authors that understand that times change, and so should the church? You must meet the needs of people where they live, which is not in the past. Morality has changed, and so should the church. Just my opinion.

Reply:
Reformed Theology is not a dying doctrine from an out of touch church. Rather, the modern church is a dying entity of an out-of-touch people. Sadly they are out of touch with the reality of a sovereign Lord and His "unchanging" mission. They have forgotten that the precepts of a moral God are immutable.

As for more liberal authors that understand, I would submit that surrendering to the change in morals, is expressly what a lack of understanding is, and what reality is, and of the desperate times in which we live. Moreover, we do meet the people where they live. The fact that we refuse to sugar-coat it is what ruffles feathers. The world we live in is the vast, deceptive, wasteland of this sin-cursed earth. It is indeed not only our mission to meet the people where they live, but to minister to them of the alternative reality wherein they might find real joy, contentment, peace, and safety.

God's unadulterated Biblical doctrines are not dying, indeed not one jot or tittle of His law shall pass till all be fulfilled. The problem is, There are not enough strangers and pilgrims in this world these days, and far too many comfy settlers and immigrants who live for the pleasures of this temporal life.

The modern church is just another way of saying the rebellious church--the church that desires to do its own will, rather than surrender to the will of God. God forbid we should stray from the narrow, restrictive way of the few, to join the many on the wide accommodating path of capitulation. Selah.

I just want to say that this is a splendid resource. I find the teachings here to be based solidly on the scriptures, drawing deeply from the past and yet also engaging a wide variety of contemporary issues. The same with the authors, both old and new voices illuminating the deep spiritual truths of the ages. Reformed Theology summarizes the most basic truths of Christianity, Christ the foundation, grace the means, and truth the avenue of the riches of God's power and glory. Thank you for your Reformed teaching with clarity and insight. May the Lord richly bless all who contribute to the Mountain Retreat site.

I don't like that the articles here seem to denigrate other Christian eschatologies by saying they are not biblical. By doing so, the authors seem to place themselves as the arbiter of what is biblical and what is not. Some authors seem to attack the character of dispensationalists. According to Reformed theologians, it's wrong for us to believe in Dispensationalism while it's fine for them to believe in Amillennialism. I would object as this seems a double standard. You should choose your articles more wisely using open-minded authors, and also throw in a few Dispensationalist writers.

This is a wonderful site I found by punching in Reformed Eschatology. Not many good eschatology resources left. Thank you for this work.

Just stumbled upon your website and am thrilled with the excellent biblical content. As a Christian who is so sick of the Howdy-Doody eschatology that I have been reading of late, I was shocked and surprised by your eschatology page. There was sound, logical, unapologetic, rational discourse of the end times. And that is so rare. A lot to read so I will be back often. God Bless you all.

I have really enjoyed learning about the Dispensationalists, Charismatics, Televangelists, and cults. Thank you for sharing the truth about extrabiblical teachers and churches. I don't like that other sites don't call false belief systems false, nor teach that there is only one savior, one church, and one God. Thanks for bringing the light into the darkness that people might be able to see the truth. Darkness should be revealed for what it really is by those who properly handle God's word.

Evangelistic Trumpism is destroying this country, the church, and our system of government. It is tearing it apart at the seams, causing divisions among Christians and soiling the name of Christ by association. Christians have got to be smarter than this. I agree with Reformed Minister Michael Horton that this is a cult, and Christians should not stand with this sort of lawlessness and evil. Great article and one other Christians should copy.
