The God Particle Discovery
« on: March 15, 2013, 07:34:46 AM »
What do you think about the announcement yesterday of the discovery of the "God Particle" as means of creation by scientists? What does this do to creationism? Does it prove it or disprove it?

I read about this yesterday. It's the hot news story of the month. But it means nothing. Of course the unbelievers will be foaming at the mouth declaring how this "proves" that God doesn't exist and we are on our own. That's a given, but it doesn't mean a thing as far as God and his creating the universe goes.

Good grief, after 10 yrs building the LHC at an estimated cost of $5 b, they'd want to find something , wouldn't they , even if its only a cheeseburger wrapper. I suspect that they have confirmed something though , that black holes do exist , and theirs is one that swallows money.
In all seriousness though, who of us has the intellect to analyse the data on this , and confirm the validity of their claims, I'm just a dumb farmer , and this is way beyond me , so I remain sceptical.

I don't want to get too off topic, or know if you want the full story, but Sam Hill was (and still is) a large store in Prescott Arizona which opened in the 19th century and had a huge inventory, including many different and unusual products not normally seen. In other words, it was a store that had everything. And so when people would come across anything that was unusual they began began using the term "what in the Sam Hill is that?" to describe anything that they would come across that was different or unusual (like the merchandise found in Sam Hill's store). Anyway, that's the back story.

The world fascinating discovery of what can only be described as the scientific conundrum of how the so-called God Particle equasion, that is incapable of actually disproving intelligent design, is hailed as a great scientific breakthrough, while giving no real answers to the questions of creation.

To put it simply, "much ado about nothing!"

"nosce te ipsum"
