Parents don't permit God to do anything, they have no control over God, God has control over them. It is by grace that God allows us to have children whom He has part in their lives that they move toward Him.

1 Samuel 2:13 King James Version (KJV)
13 And the priest's custom with the people was, that, when any man offered sacrifice, the priest's servant came, while the flesh was in seething, with a fleshhook of three teeth in his hand;

1 Samuel 2:13-14 Living Bible (TLB)

13-14 It was their regular practice to send out a servant whenever anyone was offering a sacrifice, and while the flesh of the sacrificed animal was boiling, the servant would put a three-pronged flesh hook into the pot and demand that whatever it brought up be given to Eli’s sons. They treated all of the Israelites in this way when they came to Shiloh to worship.
