Theology / Re: Job 1:6 - Satan Among the Sons of God
« Last post by Kevin Wright on Today at 03:45:20 PM »

2nd Peter 2:4-6
  • "For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
  • And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
  • And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;"

It may "appear" that God's word says angels, meaning supernatural beings, but actually God's word there says messengers, and of course it makes much more sense if we read it the way it was originally intended, rather than arbitrarily adding a new meaning to the Greek word. i.e., [aggelos] absolutely, undeniably means Messenger.

Hi,
    I understand what you guys are saying, but who were the messengers that sinned and were cast down and blinded? Israel?

"I met with the President Kenneth Mapp of the Virgin Islands -Donald Trump

He doesn't even know that he himself is the President of the virgin islands.

Doesn't make one comfortable in his intelligence and mental state, does it?  :-\

To tell you the truth, as a conservative Republican I admit that I was for another Republican candidate. But after the election I was kinda rooting for him to succeed and bring some sanity back to Washington, but now I think he's not fit to be President. His craziness has gone on too long and now I think this is really who he is. I don't know how to describe him to tell you the truth, but one word I think is incompetent.

I can think of a few more, but not going to reopen that can-o-worms. Here's a site where all get to describe Donald Trump in one word, good or bad.

Let's just pray those around him know what they are doing and can control him somewhat. Not for the sake of Christians, but for the sake of the world.

Apologetics / Re: Vaccinations and Abortions
« Last post by Reformer on Today at 10:09:03 AM »
Ok if that's the one, that changes everything. Because it's not the government forcing her, if I understand this correctly, it's a matter of the husband wanting it done, and the wife not wanting it done, and the judge had to make a decision who gets to decide. He decided in the father's favor. I don't see anything wrong with that. If both had said no, it would not have been an issue as they didn't have to.

So this doesn't concern the government forcing anyone to get vaccinated, it's just a matter of which parent gets to decide. In my mind, that's fine. You're going to go against one of them no matter which way he decided.

Yes, it's true. But while she was in jail for violating a court order to do it, it was the estranged father who had the kid vaccinated against her will. Another case of the government meddling in affairs they have no business getting involved in.

Nothing about it on AOL. It's probably just a rumor.

Reformer, that's the real liberal establishment gone wild, not the imagined liberals that so many here talk about. I haven't heard anything about that either, but I will not be surprised if it happened, considering the way things have been transpiring in this country. I have heard that there were many Christians against certain vaccinations, but not that one was forced on anyone.

I haven't heard this, but in general I don't think the government should ever be involved with forcing parents to do anything, unless it directly concerns serious abuse of children. And by abuse, I'm not talking about spanking or hitting kids (which I believe is a Parents right), I'm talking about real (not imagined) direct life endangering abuse. Vaccinations do not fit into that category.

Depending upon the vaccination, I would vaccinate my kids, but I don't think anyone has the right to force another parent to vaccinate their children. That's a violation of their parental rights in my view. Seeing as how it didn't even exist before a few generations ago, it is not really necessary no matter what people claim.

I don't know if this is related, but I read somewhere last week that a Christian woman was forced to have her child vaccinated against her will by the government. I'm wondering if anyone knows if this is true.

If it is, I don't think that is Biblical, and it should not be done. What do you think?
